Preballet II (Coming fall 2012): For children ages 5-7 with a working knowledge of Preballet I skills. Students will continue to hone their strength and coordination for ballet class.
Ballet 101 and 102: 1 hour; Pre-Ballet classes for students wishing to continue in the ballet curriculum.
Ballet Technique A, B, C, D: 1.5 hr classes. A graded ballet technique program based upon DEA’s ballet curriculum. Students are required to take at least 2 technique classes a week.
Recreational ballet technique: These 1 hr ballet classes are designed for the student who is interested in taking 1 ballet class a week in a less intensive ballet environment.
Pre-pointe: ½ hr class. A foot, ankle and leg strengthening program which prepares students for the rigors of pointework.
Pointe: Students will only be placed on pointe when the instructor feels they are physically ready to do so. Instructor has the right to remove students from pointe if needed. Pre-req for pointework: 2 or more ballet technique classes weekly.

A Little Note About Pointe Work:
Pointe is only for the serious student who is willing to devote time to daily home practice and attend class regularly. All pre-pointe and pointe students will be required to attend a minimum of 2 technique classes in addition to their pointe class weekly. Teachers will only put a child on pointe when they feel the student is technically and physically ready. Students who wait to go en pointe until the correct time for her particular body and skill development level will have less risk of ingury, be able to achive the correct technique with greater ease, and progress more speedily. We reserve the option to take students off pointe if they are not physically or technically ready to dance en pointe.
